something wonderful happened last thursday



i went to see the national play
they finished their set and came out to play an encore
two pieces in and we all thought they were done for the night


each one of them then unplugged their microphones and ear pieces and walked to the front, centre of the stage
they then played this
no amplification
you could have heard a pin drop




never have i witnessed such an engaged audience 
everyone began to join in the singing - but quietly - not with the usual "sing a long" rowdiness






incredible.

old cards ... photos ... letters ... postcards ...

tonight i found this quote written on a piece of paper
