Another lap of the sun and another chance to talk about our best of 2023
Best road trip: A day trip to Kojonup together for Claire Stone's 40th, Albany in December to see the Leipers
Best holiday: A trip to Perth in October and enjoying the river and Point Walter each morning. The kids got ice creams and played in the sand and it felt like a summer holiday
Best meal: Pizza nights in the backyard, bonfire dinner down the back of our property - cooking sausages and chops and veggies on the coals, hosting Easter brunch for all of the Stokes/Thorpes, Anthea's crayfish delivery that we turned into chilli, lemon pasta, Brad's komodo joe experiments, Nannup Brewing Meal
Best vista: Kevill Road waterfalls all through the seasons
Most "chuffed" moments: Being asked to be Indi's god parents, Will's merit award in Term 1
Best party: Kaitlin and Brian's wedding in Fremantle, Callum and Nic's wedding in Quairading, Will's first school disco!
Best concert: You Am I - Dunsborough Tavern, Cowara Bird Project in town
Best bushwalk: Barrabup Pool walk which we did without kids, Quinninup Falls walk - impressive effort by the boys!, bike riding on the Wadandi track
Best celebration: Two friends welcomed baby girls (Indiana and Bonnie) and friends and family got married!
Best drink: times that we snuck away to the Tap House together for a few drinks (spicy margarita!), gin tasting board with the Bradburns at West Winds, drinks on the street with the neighbours, local Dugite whiskey
Best tv shows: Severance, Ted Lasso final season, Fleabag, White Lotus, Colin from Accounts, The Bear
Best movie: A man called Otto, The Rescue - Thai caves documentary, the Tigger Movie
Best songs: Burning Holes - Kingswood, My Boy - Marlon Williams, the Slingers, The Man from Waco - Charlie Crocker, Working in my Guitar - The Bahamas
Best podcast: Lazy girl genius podcast, Mama Mia Outloud, How Other Dad's Dad - Hamish Blake
Best toys: Will - birds, rocks, crystals. Ethan - lego, PJ masks. Flynn - duplo
Best home additions: We painted all the walls, Todd made me the most beautiful bird bath for out our bedroom window, netted all the fruit trees and got to experience our first plums!
Milestones: New school and a full time days for Willem, Flynny learned to ride the balance bike, a broken elbow just before Christmas on the new monkey bars, end of breast feeding/weaned Flynn in February, our first year in a new town
Other notable moments: We experienced family gastro for the first time in six years, fun. Our neighbours welcomed Barry the red heeler puppy!
