The wet weather was really set in! Brad came back with coffees after he returned the car and we packed up and made our way to the airport.
Talk about chaotic ... there was one man handling all the security checks and the airport staff handling check in were also running back and forth checking passports. As a result we were delayed by about an hour and we spent two hours trying to check in. Grrrr.
We flew directly to Gatwick which was great and we took the train into London and then walked to our hotel. A short cab ride later and we were in Shoreditch drinking beer at the Brewdog, one of Todd's favourite pubs.
After logging into their wifi we finally had a chance to work out how we were going to get to the wedding in Chester. Thinking it would be a simple train ride later we were pretty surprised to find tickets were going for 180 quid EACH. Hmm.. Turns out it was grand national weekend in Liverpool and the later you leave it to book, the higher the price. Makes sense in hindsight.
We went and had some curry at a joint along Bricklane .... chuckling at how it was 10.30pm and they were still happy to seat us and feed us.
Back to the hotel to sleep on a blissful king size cloud bed!
