We had another early start this morning for our travel day from Napoli over to Santorini.
A car picked us up from the hotel and took us to the Napoli airport and from there we flew to Athens and then to Santorini.
We were immediately hit with the greek language and realised how bloody impossible it was to understand. In Italy at least you could figure a little bit of the language!
Gianni (or Yannis) picked us up from Santorini and took us to our accomodation. He was hilarious, really animated explaining the island.
As we drove the view to the right was a big drop off down to farming fields and the ocean. Our apartment was up in Oia, the tip of the island. When we got there Gianni carried both cases on his shoulders down the winding stairs.
The apartment as pretty special ... an original cave house.  We had a bit of a rest and then rugged up for sunset. It was amazing how many people were up and out watching the sunset. I guess we take it for granted in the west that we get to see the sunset over the ocean every night we please.

A gorgeous pink sky for us and we snapped a few photos before heading back to meet Brad and Nez who were flying in from Turkey.
It was so nice to see them! We ate at a restaurant just above our accomodation and caught up on all our news. A cup of tea before bed and a taste of some traditional turkish baklava they had bought with them. Delish!
