We woke up and quickly sorted out our transport situation ... hire a car.
We checked out and the hotel agreed to hold our luggage. After jumping on the tube we went to Nopi, one of Ottolenghi's restaurant. I really wanted to try the shakshuka! We walked down Oxford and Regent streets in search of an outfit for Todd to wear to the wedding. A coffee pit stop at Tap and a chance to check the wifi to make sure the car was all sorted.
Lucky we did as we'd inadvertently hired an electric car. No thanks!

We picked up the car from Kensington and then had a good time navigating our way out of London central. Blasted the Clash and waved at Buckingham Palace!

It was a really lovely drive out and I'm so glad we ended up hiring a car. The motorway took us out past Oxford ... everything so green ...
Nice to just listen to music and get there in our own time, rather than worrying about making a connecting flight or train.
We stopped at a "rest point" and were amazed at the size of it!! Groceries, doughnuts, fast food, coffee, toilets ... it was like a world away from the world. Got some snacks and hit the road again.

We arrived in Chester around 630pm and it was such a beautiful manor they had booked for the wedding -  Rowton Hall. Our room was gorgeous and a quick change later we were out the door and headed for the Ring o Bells for a meal with the wedding crowd!

Quite a few people had made it over from Australia which is really nice and we got to meet a lot of new faces and Claire's family.
